We are excited to welcome more new people to the Beyond Pricing team, this time in Europe! Portugal-based Inês joins our Engineering Team and James is leading our Sales initiatives in Europe, the Middle East and Africa from Barcelona.

Ines

Inês is from the north west of Portugal, a town called Barcelos. It’s where the famous Portuguese rooster is from. She has a young daughter, who keeps her active and drives her crazy (in a good way) with Baby Shark and Crazy Frog songs.

She has a varied background across a number of fields including biology, geology and bioinformatics which gives her a unique perspective when it comes to coding. She worked for pricing-centric startups in Portugal so joining Beyond Pricing was a great fit.

On why she joined Beyond Pricing:

I was drawn to the company initially because I was excited by the coding challenge and I had heard good things about the team. I’m very honored to work alongside such a talented and supportive group of people. Although I’ve only been here for a few weeks I feel really included, from day one I've felt like part of the Beyond family. This is the most diverse team in terms of gender, personalities, locations and methods I have worked on. It’s exciting to see all these people come together to achieve the same goal and reach their potential together.

James

James has been working in the Vacation Rental industry for four years. He started working with a well known Property Management System both in Europe and the United States while he was managing his own vacation rental in Barcelona. He quickly fell in love with an industry that offers the opportunity to work with both travel and technology.

He discovered that there is a huge amount of tech in the vacation rental world but the technologies rarely talk to each other. This has paved the way for companies that realize the importance of an “open API attitude” and therefore want to partner with each other.

Oh why he joined Beyond Pricing:

From the second you meet the team and have the chance to feel the energy in the office, you realize you are among a super-smart and hard working bunch of people. Beyond Pricing care, it’s obvious for everybody to see and we experience that first hand when we meet our clients at events and conferences. Also, we have non-clients approach us with comments that they have never heard such positive feedback about a tech company in our space. It makes the hard work all worthwhile.

Also, after seeing a ton of new technologies flood into the Vacation Rental space, pricing became a really obvious next step for the industry, globally. We can have the best smart-home solutions on the market in our own rentals, but if as hosts or property managers we don’t realize the true earning potential of our vacation rentals/short term rentals, it’s all in vain and simply unsustainable.

While Beyond Pricing is the first to turn this technology to focus on the fast-growing vacation rental world, what we do is fundamentally nothing new to consumers. Without true dynamic pricing, people will leave money on the table. All we do is simply show them where.

Taking the decision to begin working at Beyond Pricing has been a breath of fresh air to say the least. The ability Beyond Pricing has to add value to each and every one of our new & existing clients has left me speechless. It’s easily the strongest product I’ve had the opportunity to work with, without compromise.

On the future of the industry:

The Property Manager of today knows that they need a minimum tech stack to be successful and dynamic pricing is the tool of today. It will soon become impossible to remain competitive without not only adopting these new technologies, but welcoming them with open arms. For that reason, I proudly accepted the opportunity to lead our business development efforts in Europe, Middle East & Africa without hesitation.
